Go to Hell! An Exhibition of Puppets and Ghosts
In this exhibition we will take you into the darkness, into a story of my family and grandmother and into hell, but, don’t worry, in the end you will be reborn. We will understand the religious concepts about ghosts in Chinese and other cultures and the close relation between religion and theatre through a unique display of 19th century Taiwanese and Chinese shadow puppets, marionettes and glove puppets, but also masks from Japan, Guatemala and India. Perhaps we will be a little bit scared, but the gods and ghosts will make our lives so much more interesting.
